Introduction to PRT & Early Language Acquisition
Offered over 6 weeks, this highly popular program teaches families how to use PRT to help their children. Parent instruction is followed by direct therapy with the child/caregiver. PRT is a collaborative effort between therapists, caregivers and children. We develop individualized goals for each child. Classes are offered in the evenings to accommodate caregivers who work full-time.
PRT Behaviour Therapy
We offer behavioural therapy for children from 18 months to adolescence using PRT, which is an evidence-based form of Applied Behaviour Analysis. The therapy can be delivered in home, daycares or at the centre. Behavioural therapy targets various social, behavioural and academic needs.
PRT Caregiver Coaching
This type of therapy provides coaching from therapist to parents/caregivers only.
Comprehensive PRT Treatment
Early Language Acquisition Program (ELA) package which includes training, assessment and the development of an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) for your child. Minimum 10 hours per week of therapy.
Ontario Autism Program
Pivotal Minds is an approved provider.
We have a Clinical Supervisor who meets the requirements under the Direct Funding Option (DFO) for OAP.
IBI (Intensive Behaviour Intervention) / ABA
Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI) is the application of the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). At Pivotal Minds, the IBI program follows a structured curriculum that focuses on increasing skills in social behaviour, language and communication, academic (or pre-academic) skills - all in a naturalistic setting. Pivotal Minds is an approved OAP provider under the DFO option.
A classroom inspired program where your child attends every morning from 8:30-11:30 am from Monday-Friday.
Social Competency Program
A 5-week program designed to teach children how to think socially.
Understanding social situations and social expectations, and becoming more aware of social cues.
Understanding how expectations relate to our thoughts, the thoughts of others, our behaviours and other people's behaviour.
Feeding Disorders/Feeding Intervention
Feeding intervention will include a detailed assessment of your child's feeding issues. Therapy will empower parents to deal with problematic feeding situations to help your baby or child to develop healthy feeding and eating patterns. Caregivers will learn to implement a feeding program designed specifically for their child's needs.
SLPs specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders, cognitive-communication disorders, voice disorders and swallowing disorders.
They play an important role in the in the the treatment of ASD.
Our Lactation Consultant is a very sought-after nurse who is involved in the clinical management of breastfeeding.
