WHAT IS OUR BRIGHT BUILDERS   LEGO PROGRAM ABOUT?

The Pivotal Minds S.T.E.M. LEGO® Builders Program is a fun and accessible social engagement group  for children of similar ages and abilities, using LEGO®-based activities to help them interact with peers, improve their self-esteem and develop problem solving skills by building towers, rockets and other cool projects together!

And the good news? Your child  does not need a diagnosis of Autism to join the program. Our unique LEGO® based Program benefits children with a variety of communication and social developmental challenges using PRT strategies.

Our class sizes are small and taught by certified PRT Instructor Therapists along with a helper(s).

PRT’s main focus is on the following:

PERSONAL ATTENTION

Your child will receive personal attention throughout the program.  This starts at our intake process; highlighting your child's abilities will help us to create a meaningful experience.

WHAT IS THE FOCUS OF THE LEGO PROGRAM?

Play is one of a child’s most powerful cognitive and social learning tools. The S.T.E.M. LEGO® Builders PRT Program provides a structured environment that will safely motivate children to demonstrate their very own unique skills and help them to appreciate others' attributes, through a playful and positive guided environment.

We use LEGO® as a fun and accessible motivator to playfully teach core social engagement skills including; communication (giving and receiving instructions), turn-taking, negotiating, sharing, and collaborative problem-solving strategies using PRT concepts in this small group setting.

SMALL GROUPS

Small group sizes allow our participants to feel at ease, feel part of a community and build a sense of belonging.  By keeping our programs smaller, we are able to work on things such as transitioning, dealing with conflict, coach self-management, etc.

Our team of caring PRT Instructor Therapists will support your child to build these skills that will maximize their capacity for positive interactions and social skills that in turn can be used at home, at school, or any other social setting.

NON-COMPETITIVE PROGRAMMING

Our programs are non-competitive.  Although we may play games with teams, we focus on participation and having fun!  Fostering a positive environment is important to encouraging children to join in rather than focusing on winning or losing.  We learn from mistakes and how to be part of a fun group!

OUR APPROACH

We use Pivotal Response Treatment in every program we create.  PRT is a naturalistic and positive approach that follows a child's lead, often showing gains and success in short periods of time. Our camp leaders are certified Instructor Therapists and understand the unique complexities that each child brings (even in those anxious or overstimulated moments).  Our intake process helps us to ensure that your child's needs are met in small groups.  We nurture our Little Chicklets   so that they comfortably feel a part of a fun camp experience.

ACTIVITIES

01

Each class will have Engineers, Suppliers and Builders!

All children will get a chance to be in each role throughout the 6 week duration of the program.

02

Every week brings a different theme!  Our classes are fun and different each time.  Changing our theme allows us to avoid satiation and also use PRT principles around changes in your child's life.

03

At Pivotal Minds we incorporate free play.  We want your child to enjoy every minute of the programs we offer.  Free play gives them a chance to express their own play and feel more comfortable in their new enviornment.
